Bah, humbug!

Went to the Scrooge play at Coveant Celebration Church- I've gone to that play several times, and still love it. I still get the same effect whenever I go.
Brent, Reuben, Preston, Abby, and I got together and went to the play together. I almost couldn't go, for my parents was unable to provide cash. So, I owe Brent a dinner because of that. lol I also have a decision to make pertaining to the night.
I think my brain had disappeared briefly after I was returning home. To get back to Tacoma after the Scrooge play, I had to get on highway 512. Rain pelted my car, and it was so dark that I could've sworn a black blanket was thrown over my car. I kept one eye on the fuel gauge constantly, for I was extremely low on gas- I had only one dollar put in to keep the needle off the unnerving 'orange zone' of the gauge. Got there just fine. Went and enjoyed myself at Applebee's and the play (and gave Brent several heart attacks *mwhahahaaaa*). But the trip back home.. *shakes head*
As you might've predicted- the fuel warning light came on. And I was still few miles away from home. Aaah! Turned on my hazard lights (note- very first time I've ever had to do that), and zipped to Steele exit- which, Thank God, appeared right after the fuel warning light blinked on. Uttered a quick prayer that I'll find a gas station in time. Texaco station came into my view almost immediately after taking the exit. Praise the Lord! Got there just fine. Added few drops of gas ($1.23 worth- all the remaining money I had left. *sobs* lol). Headed for home.
But then... that's when my brain disappeared.
When the protected turn green light came on, I drove onto the ramp back to 512 to return home.
And noticed something odd. I saw two lanes, with an arrow marking on the road that was pointing to the right. And, the arrow was pointing in the opposite direction I was going.
Wha? I looked up and a red sign caught my eye- "Wrong Way"
Oh, my God! I slammed on the brakes the same time I saw a car approaching at a safe distance. Made a hard U-turn. Hit the uneven patch of grass on the side, and drove in the correct direction, and turned around again.
Returned to the same position I was just before turning onto the ramp to 512. I looked at it extra carefully, through all the waterfall on my windshield. Saw the yellow sticks on the road that I mistook as the side of the road- it was really a directional line- dividing the lanes for people that had just come off 512 (two lanes), and for people to come on the 512 (one lane).
(yay, I get to use my favorite icon again.
)
Oy. lol
Today was an odd day. I ran into so many people I knew today. My family went to get a Christmas tree at our regular Christmas tree farm- Double Four. Saw four kids from my high school working there, and I was surprised. Ran into a staff from MTHS. Ran into two kids from my high school with their family that was just getting a tree. Dang! Later, I went to a "Voice of Democracy" scholarship awards dinner that my sister, Brittany, had won. She wasn't in the top five, but still- she did great! *cheers*
During the dinner, I was sitting next to my Marine neighbor (he's part of the army, so he happened to be able to help Brittany out through the competition). One man (I'll get back to him later), came up to us and asked if I was his wife.
WHAT?
Well, I can understand why- I was lookin' elegant with my hair down and in a glittery silver sweater and business pants (formal dinner). Haha! Ya should've seen my neighbor's face. We always are sparring over something and he's always insulting me jokingly.
Then.. That man who had approached us- he was fluent in sign language, because he was raised in a deaf family!! And his DEAF son had attended Mount Tahoma- and actually set the still-standing record of diving!! Cooooool. And that man's father was the one of the first five deaf Boys Scout to get the Eagle Rank in the United States of America. Whoaaaaah.
Also, I ran into Caseylie's (Clover Park Daffodil Princess) family at the dinner, because their younger sister had won as well. Odd. lol
Hey, tell me the stupidest thing you've ever done while driving. That's the current most stupid thing I've done while driving. Well, it's sorta a tie with when I once backed up into a ditch. LOL
